Mediation Services
A faster, more confidential and cost-effective alternative to litigation. Dr. Faruk Özkan is a registered mediator with the Turkish Ministry of Justice.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary, confidential dispute resolution process in which a neutral third party — the mediator — facilitates communication between the parties to help them reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
Unlike litigation or arbitration, the mediator does not impose a decision. The parties retain full control over the outcome. Agreements reached in mediation can be made legally binding and enforceable.
In Turkey, mediation is regulated by Law No. 6325 on Mediation in Civil Disputes. Mandatory mediation applies to certain commercial and labour disputes before court proceedings may be initiated.
Advantages of Mediation
Speed
Disputes are resolved in weeks — often in a single session — rather than years of litigation.
Confidentiality
Mediation sessions are strictly confidential; information shared cannot be used as evidence in court.
Cost-Effectiveness
Disputes are resolved at a fraction of the cost of prolonged court proceedings.
Party Autonomy
No solution is imposed; the parties determine their own terms and outcome.
Relationship Preservation
Commercial partnerships, employment relationships and family ties are protected throughout the process.
Enforceability
A settlement agreement can be endorsed by a court and made legally binding and enforceable.

If agreement is reached, a settlement document is drawn up and can be made enforceable by the court on request.
